Call me Procrastinator

This strip never seemed so apt. It appears that, yes, that would be my Alter Ego, as I flash across the sky in a blinding light, watching people suffering at the hands of bad men I would stand defiantly, raise my arm, and boldly proclaim, "I'll sort that out later."

In fact, no, I probably wouldn't even get to the flying part. I'd be at home, sat in front of the television, munching on popcorn and watching Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased).

I won't deny that I have been extremely unfair to the halfdozen-strong fanbase that Fried has. When I wrote the below newspsot I had every intention of knocking out a Curtain Call strip for Fried. I had it scripted and everything. But I never got around to drawing it. Why? The answer is simple - Fried bored me. It bored me because every strip was the same. The characters were the same, the locations were the same, and after a while that really starts to ache. That's why my new project is going to be a bit different. If you read my blog then you have had a glimpse of what's coming.

Fried isn't entirely dead, though. There will most certainly be a crossover with the new webcomic. And who knows? I may very well get 'round to drawing that Curtain Call I mentioned earlier. I've been drawing Joe since I was four, so I'm hardly going to just forget him willy-nilly. I expect he'll return at some point, in some form or another...

The Future of Fried

The end is nigh.

Fried will be wrapping up within the next couple of weeks. I'm going to tie up some loose ends (there aren't any, but we'll pretend there are) and some characters may be migrating to other strips in the Psycheverse. I know Euan is probably going to want to snatch up Mac as he has a particular fondness for the character (and Andrew hates talking inanimate objects), but the rest of the human cast are welcome to meander anywhere they want. If you want to steal the characters, drop me an email.

As for the next project? Well, I won't give too much away on the basis that it might not actually happen (you know what I'm like...) but I can tell you it's going to be a Scifi Comedy, and it's going to be totally different from any of the stuff you've seen in Fried. Looks-wise, it's still recognisably my work, but I'm going to be trying new things.

You already know what the project is. I've told you. You just don't know I've told you.
